Lane founded Facing North Theatre as a place for creative curiosity and championing a playful and varied theatrical experience for an audience. He is delighted that Facing North Theatre has this exciting opportunity to work with Castlefield Viaduct to create a magical piece of theatre on a site steeped in rich Manchester history, working with such a committed, generous and talented company of artists.

Louise played Leonato in Her Productions’ Much Ado About Nothing in Summer 2022 at Hope Mill and is part of the first Shakespeare North Playhouse Ensemble. Working with Associate Artist Ben Crystal, she celebrated Shakespeare’s birthday in April 2023, with sharing of Lights On, Lights Off, extracts of all 36 plays in the First Folio. Louise met and first worked with Lane and Ebony in one of her favourite roles ever as Ladybird in James and The Giant Peach at Sale Waterside Arts. She appeared as DC Meadon in Emmerdale, and regularly performs as her alter ego Maureen Common!

Thomas is a performer, musician, and puppeteer based in Manchester. As a freelancer with 9 years of industry experience, he has worked with a variety of companies including Horse+Bamboo, Dizzy O’Dare, Whalley Range All Stars, and Handmade Theatre. Thomas has also collaborated upon, facilitated, and managed projects on behalf of HOME, Touchstones, Z-arts, and Tameside Council, among many others. Thomas’ style is rooted in play and reconnecting with our sense of childhood fun and adventure.
